Botox Marketing Keywords With High Patient Intent

Woman receiving a cosmetic injection at a clinic

The Botox keywords with the highest patient intent attach a price or a place to the treatment, like “Botox price per unit” and “Botox near me.” We wrote 124 of them, sorted them into nine intent groups and gave each one a page and a patient stage. Every keyword also has a Google Ads status, because a US clinic can put the word Botox in an ad but needs Google certification to bid on it as a keyword.

Of the 124, 76 (61%) contain a prescription drug name such as Botox, Dysport or Daxxify. Most clinics will reach those searchers through organic pages. The remaining 48, including “wrinkle relaxer near me” and “masseter injections near me,” can go into paid campaigns now.

Five Rules Behind This Botox Keyword Set

  • US ads and landing pages have been allowed to name Botox and other prescription drugs since October 29, 2025. Targeting those names as keywords still takes Google certification.
  • A drug name appears in 76 of our 124 keywords. For an uncertified clinic, organic pages carry most Botox demand.
  • Each on-label area page states its label dose, which is 20 units for frown lines, 24 for crow’s feet and 40 for forehead plus frown lines.
  • Write masseter, lip flip and TMJ pages as service descriptions with no claim of FDA approval.
  • Rebooking keywords go to organic pages, email and text reminders, because health ads can’t use customer match or lookalike segments.

What Google Ads Allows for the Word Botox Since October 2025

Google restricts prescription drug terms in ads, landing pages and keywords. In October 2025 it changed that rule for campaigns targeting the US, Canada and New Zealand. Advertisers there can now use the drug names to promote the drugs where local law allows, with no certification needed for the ad text or the landing page.

Keywords didn’t change, and you still need certification to keyword-target a prescription drug term. The application asks for a business category such as online pharmacy, telemedicine or pharmaceutical manufacturer, and Google warns against applying under one that doesn’t fit your business. Most med spas and dermatology clinics won’t have that certification, so their paid keywords leave the drug names out.

An uncertified clinic can bid on “wrinkle relaxer near me” and still put the product name in the ad. A headline reading “Botox® Cosmetic in Austin” stays within policy, and the click can land on your Botox page. Our guide to Google health ad rules has the rest of the policy.

Meta has its own Drugs and Pharmaceuticals ad standard. Google’s approval tells you nothing about Meta’s, so keep a log of which ad versions each platform approved.

How We Sorted 124 Botox Keywords by Patient Intent

We started from the questions patients ask before their first injection and the words they type, then sorted the list into nine groups. Every keyword got a patient stage (ready to book, comparing, researching or existing patient) and a target page from an eleven-page plan. Any keyword with a drug or ingredient name in it is marked as needing certification. “Botulinum” counts as a drug term in our set, to stay on the safe side.

Only 48 of the 124 are generic. Worried first-timers and price shoppers use the brand name most, in 14 of 16 worry terms and 13 of 17 price terms. An uncertified clinic ends up with two separate jobs. Paid search buys the generic terms, while organic pages have to win the branded ones.

Botox Price and Cost-Per-Unit Keywords

Price searchers want two numbers, the cost per unit and the cost per area. Because the Botox Cosmetic label sets a dose for each area, a price page can convert one into the other. The table below runs three example unit prices through the label doses. Those prices are only there for the arithmetic, so replace them with your own.

Area (label dose)At $12 per unitAt $15 per unitAt $18 per unit
Frown lines (20 units)$240$300$360
Crow’s feet (24 units)$288$360$432
Forehead plus frown lines (40 units)$480$600$720
Neck bands, one band per side (26 units)$312$390$468
Neck bands, two bands per side (36 units)$432$540$648

Moving the unit price by $3 changes a forehead-plus-frown visit by $120. Patients notice gaps like that, which is why the list carries unit-price and area-price searches. Put your per-unit price, the label units per area and each area total in a single table. Add a line saying the provider may adjust the dose after an exam.

Patients do type “cheap Botox near me,” so it stays in the set, but leave the word cheap out of your copy. Specials and payment plans belong on the price page with their dates and terms spelled out.

Botox Near Me and City Keywords

Near-me searchers are closest to booking, and half the near-me terms in our set are generic. Ever/Body’s Flatiron location page names its injectables menu “Botox® & Wrinkle Relaxers,” which puts the brand and the generic term in a single service name. The street address, subway stops and hours are on the same page, along with an FAQ saying injectables need an in-person assessment.

Generic near-me ad groups should land on a location page that names the brands you stock. Organic results have no certification gate, so put “Botox in [city]” in the title tag of each city page.

Treatment Area Keywords From Forehead Lines to Masseter

Botox Cosmetic has four approved aesthetic areas. Forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet are on the face, and platysma bands on the neck were added in October 2024 as the product’s first aesthetic use beyond the face. AbbVie says no other neurotoxin is approved for platysma bands. Your pages for these four areas can name the indication and give the label dose.

Masseter, lip flip, bunny lines and gummy smile all fall outside those four areas. Give each one a page that describes the service and how the provider assesses the patient, without calling the use FDA-approved or borrowing results from the label studies.

Use unit questions like “how many units of Botox for forehead” as H2s on the area pages. Give the label dose where one exists and the range your providers use where it doesn’t.

Dysport, Xeomin, Daxxify and Other Brand Comparison Keywords

Letybo joined the list in 2024, and by March of that year six neurotoxins were FDA-approved for frown lines in the US. The other five are Botox Cosmetic, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau and Daxxify. Patients compare them on price and on how long results last. Build one comparison page covering only the brands you stock, with a line on each.

Units don’t convert one to one between brands. Your medical director should sign off on any “Dysport units vs Botox units” answer before it goes live, and duration claims should stay within each product’s label.

First-Time Worry Keywords for Nervous New Patients

The Botox Cosmetic label has a boxed warning that the effects of all botulinum toxin products may spread from the injection area, and swallowing and breathing problems can be life threatening. Say this in plain words on your first-visit page and list the symptoms that should prompt a call to the clinic. Someone who typed “is Botox safe” wants the risk named.

Frown line results last about three to four months, and the label adds that dosing more often than every three months hasn’t been studied. Both facts belong on the page for “how long does Botox last,” and the rebooking group further down builds on them. Aftercare searches like “what not to do after Botox” go on their own page, one you can text to patients after every visit.

Botox Keywords for Men

Men use their own words, “Brotox” and “natural looking Botox for men” among them. Half of the men’s terms in our set are generic, enough for a men’s ad group that needs no certification. Land it on a page showing male patients and the dose ranges your providers use for stronger brow muscles.

Medical Botox Keywords for Sweating, Migraine and TMJ

Therapeutic Botox has its own label, separate from Botox Cosmetic. It covers severe underarm sweating at 50 units per underarm, and chronic migraine prevention in adults at 155 units spread over seven head and neck muscle areas. TMJ and teeth grinding aren’t on it, so go after these keywords only if your clinic offers the treatment with a provider qualified to assess the condition.

SkinSpirit treats a medical use as an ordinary clinic service in its article on treating hyperhidrosis with neurotoxins. Migraine searchers ask about insurance, so spell out your billing policy on the migraine page. If you don’t treat chronic migraine, leave those terms to neurology practices.

Rebooking Keywords for Patients Already in the Chair

Rebook a neurotoxin patient every four months and you see them three times a year. A search like “Botox wearing off after 2 months” might come from your own patient or from someone treated at another clinic. Your rebooking page should give typical duration and when to book, and it can spell out a touch-up policy in writing.

Paid remarketing won’t do much here. Google’s policy on health in personalized advertising rules out customer match and lookalike segments for health ads. Generic Wrinkle Relaxer Terms You Can Bid On Without Certification

None of these nine terms contains a drug name, so they anchor an uncertified clinic’s paid campaign. With the 39 generic terms from the other groups, the paid list comes to 48. Start on phrase match and read the search terms report every week, because generic terms also pull in hair and skincare searches.

Mapping the Botox Keyword Set to Eleven Pages

A single-location clinic needs eleven pages to cover all nine groups. The title tags below lead with the main keyword and stay under 60 characters. Swap in your city for [City], and use a brand name in a title only if you actually stock that product.

The landing pages can name Botox, but hold claims to what the label supports and leave before-and-after promises out of the ads. Spend benchmarks for health ads are in our healthcare PPC statistics.

Negative Keywords for Botox Campaigns

Generic injectable terms attract job seekers and people shopping for creams. Load these negatives into every campaign before it goes live.

  • training, course, certification, class, school, jobs, salary, hiring
  • buy, wholesale, supplier, online pharmacy, kit
  • hair botox, botox for hair, hair treatment, shampoo
  • cream, serum, lotion, topical, at home, DIY
  • botulism, food poisoning, stock, AbbVie earnings
  • meme, celebrity, gone wrong video, reddit

“Hair Botox” is a conditioning treatment for hair with no toxin in it, and generic tox terms can match it. For the first month, read the search terms report weekly and add anything new to a shared negative list.

Questions Injectors Ask About Botox Keywords and Ads

Can a Med Spa Bid on the Keyword Botox?

Not without Google certification for prescription drug terms, and that certification is built around categories such as online pharmacies, telemedicine and drug makers. The word Botox itself has been allowed in US ad text and on landing pages since October 29, 2025.

What Are the Best Botox Keywords for Google Ads Without Certification?

Generic local terms like “wrinkle relaxer near me” and “masseter injections near me” are the ones to bid on, and our set has 48 bid-ready terms in total.

Should a Botox Page Show Price per Unit or Price per Area?

Show both, since patients search each way and the label dose connects the two. Frown lines at 20 units cost $300 when you charge $15 a unit.

Can a Clinic Advertise Botox for TMJ?

TMJ isn’t on the Botox label, though you can describe a masseter or jaw clenching service led by a qualified provider, as long as you don’t call the use FDA-approved.

Who Can Run Botox Ads for My Clinic?

Firms with public healthcare work are listed in our med spa PPC agencies and healthcare PPC agencies directories. There are also lists for med spa marketing, dermatology and plastic surgery. Get Matched sends your brief to a short list.
