How We Vet Agencies

The criteria an agency must meet before it appears in Medigencies, what we check on every profile, and what we do not claim to know.

Every agency in the directory goes through the same process before its profile is published. This page explains that process in full, so you can judge how much weight to give our listings.

The Short Version

  • We only list active agencies with public evidence of healthcare work.
  • Every fact comes from the agency’s own website or another reliable public source, and is dated.
  • Each profile includes strengths and limitations.
  • We have not hired or tested the agencies, and we say so on every profile.
  • Money never changes directory order or what a profile says.

Inclusion Criteria

  1. Active business: the agency has a working website, a stated location or service area, and signs of current activity such as recent case studies, posts or job listings.
  2. Healthcare evidence: the agency shows healthcare work through at least one of the following: a dedicated healthcare or specialty page, a published healthcare case study, or an explicit statement that it serves healthcare organizations.
  3. Clear services: the agency describes the marketing services it provides in enough detail for us to classify them.
  4. No serious red flags: we exclude agencies that promise guaranteed rankings, sell fake reviews, or make marketing claims that conflict with patient privacy rules.

What We Check on Every Profile

  • Healthcare focus: whether healthcare is the agency’s only market, a core vertical, or one of several. This is based on how the agency presents itself.
  • Specialties: tagged only when backed by the agency’s own pages, never because the agency could in theory take on that client.
  • Services: taken from the agency’s service pages. Agencies offering six or more distinct services are also listed under full-service marketing.
  • AEO and GEO: listed only when the agency explicitly offers optimization for AI search, answer engines, generative engines or LLM visibility.
  • Pricing and contracts: recorded only when published. Otherwise the profile says quotes are custom and suggests what to ask.
  • HIPAA and privacy statements: we record what the agency says publicly, for example that it signs Business Associate Agreements. We do not audit compliance.
  • Headquarters, founding year and team size: recorded when the agency states them. Where sources conflict, we leave the field out or note the conflict.
  • Verification sources and date: every profile lists the agency pages we used and the date we last checked them.

What We Do Not Claim

We have not hired, audited or tested the agencies listed here. Results quoted on a profile, such as traffic growth or lead volume, are the agency’s own claims and are attributed to it. A listing is not an endorsement, and the absence of an agency does not mean it is unsuitable. Always check references, contract terms and compliance arrangements yourself.

Ordering and Labels

Agencies on specialty, service and location pages are shown in alphabetical order. We do not rank agencies against each other or award our own star ratings. Star ratings shown on profiles come only from moderated user reviews. If an agency ever pays for a sponsored placement, it carries a visible Sponsored label.

Updates, Corrections and Removals

We aim to recheck every profile at least once a year, and sooner when an agency or reader reports a change. Each profile shows its last verification date. Agencies can claim their profile to suggest factual corrections, which we verify before publishing. We remove agencies that close, stop serving healthcare clients, or no longer meet the criteria above. Report an error through our corrections form.
